Xilinx is pleased to announce the availability of SDAccel / SDSoC 2018.2. This release of the SDAccel development environment provides support for the Xilinx Alveo U200 and U250 Data Center accelerator cards.

SDAccel Development Environment What's New for 2018.2 XDF:

The the 2018.2 XDF release of the SDAccel development environment provides support for the Xilinx Alveo U200 and U250 Data Center accelerator cards.

IMPORTANT: In the 2018.2 XDF release, the Xilinx runtime (XRT), the deployment shell to program the card, and the development shell to develop applications, are delivered as separate installable Linux packages for each supported platform. Users who simply wish to deploy an application to run on an accelerator card may now get started as described in Getting Started with Alveo Data Center Accelerator Cards (UG1301). Users who want to use the complete SDAccel development environment for programming, compiling, and debugging accelerated applications, must do a full installation as described in Installing the SDAccel Environment.

About the SDx Environments.   The                                                                                                                                                                                                         2018.2 SDx Environment software release consists of the SDSoC Development Environment for Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC and Zynq-7000 SoC families, and the SDAccel Development Environment for Data Center and PCIe-based accelerator systems. These environments share a common installer, but are licensed individually. All SDx Environments include the Vivado® Design Suite for programming the target devices and for developing custom hardware platforms.

About SDSoC.   The SDSoC development environment provides a familiar embedded C/C++/OpenCL application development experience including an easy to use Eclipse IDE and a comprehensive design environment for heterogeneous Zynq SoC and MPSoC deployment. Complete with the industry's first C/C++/OpenCL full-system optimizing compiler, SDSoC delivers system level profiling, automated software acceleration in programmable logic, automated system connectivity generation, and libraries to speed programming. It also enables end user and third party platform developers to rapidly define, integrate, and verify system level solutions and enable their end customers with a customized programming environment.

About SDAccel.   The SDAccel development environment enables up to 25X better performance per Watt for data center application acceleration with FPGAs. SDAccel, a member of the SDx family, offers a compiler, a debugger and a profiler.  It supports standard OpenCL APIs to abstract the hardware platform and optimizes code to hardware as kernels running onto the FPGA acceleration board.
