For vehicles manufactured before 03.2010 update maps via USB is possible only with the updated firmware CIC (since 03.2010). Generally, if the first letter of the firmware version I, J, K, L and M (for example CIC_Ixxxxxx), then the update to a USB flash drive is possible.
The procedure for updating the maps:
To update the maps Europe East need to copy the contents of a folder (ie pkgdb config.nfm and file folder) to the root of a USB flash drive formatted to FAT32.
1. Insert the flash drive into the USB port, which is located in the glove box. The display will automatically request to update the navigation is displayed.
2. Use the iDrive-Controller to select the displayed menu item "Start Update".
3. Enter your 20-digit activation code FSC (Freischaltcode) via iDrive-Controller. FSC activation code does not contain the digits 0 and 1 in order to avoid putannitsa with the letters O and I. If you have previously activated LifeTime enter personal code is not necessary.
4. Select and click "OK" to confirm and begin the update process (copying from a flash drive).
5. Updating is only loaded with the active display, that is, ignition on, with the engine running and a few minutes after the engine is choked. Update happens in the background and the basic functions of the navigation system are available. Do not remove the flash drive until the update is complete.
6. Updating can last from 30 to 90 minutes. After a complete download скачать of the update, the system will automatically reboot. Upgrade completed.
