Eric Moore was tagged in high school with his mother's maiden name, Luckey, and it soon became used as his middle name. Luckey was raised in Nashville, TN, and learned to play piano in kindergarten by the Suzuki method. Next came the acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and even the drums by using the same method he learned as a child.
Luckey started his first band in high school, followed by his second band "Young Guns" that played college gigs scheduled by a booking agency that believed in him and his music. Years later he traveled the country and to Japan performing as a member of the country duo, Curtis & Luckey. They opened for some of the biggest stars in country music and visited hundreds of radio stations promoting their singles that charted on the three major Texas charts as well as the Music Row Chart.
His diversity of lyrics and melodies impressed Gary Morris and landed him a publishing deal in Nashville as well as co-writes with some of the best in Nashville. All of the songs on his first CD "Luckey" were recorded in his home studio where Luckey played all instruments, arranged, and produced the recordings.
"Take 'Em With 'Ya'" is a lesson learned from a soldier and "Couchin' It" is something that could become a new slang expression. "Throwback" takes us back to the 60's, and "Young'uns" has a great message for all of us about the next generation.
Luckey has a unique style with his bass/baritone voice and his writing ability. From "Take A Walk" to "Wonder Woman" to "When A Good Ol' Boy Loves A Country Girl" his music is country with a mixture of all of it's subcategories. His first love is traditional country, and the lyrics in "Take A Walk" show that love and the legacy of the city where he has spent his entire life.
