Description
Welcome to the wild world of film photography in our "Intro to Film Photography" course! I'm Connor Bacon, a professional photographer and filmmaker. Throughout my journey with various photography formats, I've developed a deep passion for the art of film. I've shot thousands of rolls of 35mm, medium format, and quite a few boxes of large format sheet film, and continue the craft today in both digital and film formats. That being said, I remember what it was like getting started and how difficult it was to gather accurate and updated information surrounding film, which is why I created this course. In the upcoming lessons, we'll cover everything from choosing your first film camera to understanding the nuances of different film stocks and formats. You'll learn how to harness the power of a light meter, navigate the film development process, receive your first scans, and we'll even go over some editing tips and tricks. If you've never held a camera, this course offers a starting point to the rest of your career. Likewise, for digital photographers looking to move into a new medium, you've come to the right place. In this course we will cover: - The mechanics of film and the different formats- What type of film stocks you should start with- The best types of cameras- How to load and unload film- How to use external light meters- How to use your camera's built in light meter- Why you would use one meter over another in the first place- A comprehensive guide to exposure and stops of light- The exposure triangle- How to develop and scan your film once you have exposed the roll- Lightroom processes to make adjustments to your film scans- And much more!
