Hearts collide. Sparks fly. If only love came with a playbook.
Star quarterback. Straight-A swimmer. Two lives tangled up in history, hurt, and everything they never got the chance to be.
I'm on top of the world-the king of the field, the guy everyone wants. Everyone except Melinda Shepard. She's brilliant, guarded, and completely unimpressed by my reputation. When we were kids, we came close to becoming something real-until I messed it up before either of us had the chance to figure out what that something even was.

Now we're older, further apart, and still somehow stuck in each other's orbit.
When one night takes a dangerous turn, I'm the one who refuses to walk away. Suddenly, every old feeling comes rushing back. But wanting Melinda has never been the problem. Getting her to trust me again? That's where everything falls apart.
She's hiding more than she'll admit, and the harder I try to hold on, the faster she pulls away. As pressure closes in and the tension between us ignites, every unsaid word threatens to drag us both under.
Falling for the girl who could break your heart?     Yeah. That was the easy part.
