I've spent the last twenty-five years playing guitar and singing all over the San Francisco bay area. You may have seen me or heard me in some neighborhood tavern, hipster cafe, jazz lounge, blues club, The Fillmore poster room or on a late Sunday night preaching to the faithful at the Boom Boom Room on Fillmore Street.
After ten years covering deep New Orleans funk with my band The Brothers Goldman and three CD releases (Ascended Masters of the Order of the Tantric FOnk-2003, FOnk-2008 and FOnkOlOgy-2011,) I turned my attention to the origination of my thirty year musical odyssey, Delta Blues.
In 2012, I embarked upon a musical journey channeling the music of Blind Willie Johnson, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and Mississippi John Hurt and I began writing original songs inspired by these giants of Delta Blues.
In December 2014, I released my first solo CD - GHOSTS, a collection of original compositions and 1920's acoustic blues. With stripped-down instrumentation of vocals and acoustic guitar and a visceral recording approach, I sought to conjure the Ghosts of the Delta.
GHOSTS spent 5 months atop the Roots Music Radio Charts and garnered rave reviews from bloggers and publications in the U.S, England, Germany, France and Holland.
You can catch me LIVE playing solo every Thursday night at the Speakeasy Tap Room here in San Francisco and from time to time in duo with clarinet or at times with my Delta Trio. Take a gander at the calendar page to see where I'll be next!
