Billy Flynn has been around playing his blues for many decades now. He grew up in Green Bay, WI and got his first taste of real blues as he turned 14 (in 1970) when Clark Kent's Super Joint opened. Legends such as Jimmy Rogers, Johnny Littlejohn, and Johnny Young were just a few of the acts that played at the club. Shortly after the joint opened, Billy got an opportunity to jam w/ his mentor, Jimmy Dawkins. In 1975 Dawkins invited Flynn to join his band and toured w/ him for over four years. After that, Billy continued to play in his home and Chicago area with such acts as Luther Allison, Mighty Joe Young, and Sunnyland Slim. In the late 1980's he played with ex-Muddy Waters bandmates including Pinetop Perkins, Willy "Big Eyes" Smith, and Calvin "Fuzz" Jones. Billy has also worked w/ such greats as Kim Wilson and Otis Rush. He tries to make himself readily available for work and various blues opportunities as they arise. Billy has played the guitar guest spot on many remarkable blues discs.
