The National Instruments development team is pleased to announce the availability of LabVIEW NXG 5.1 is a science and engineering-focused programming environment for designing and testing systems within a visual code diagram.
LabVIEW NXG 5.1 New Features - Date: November 20, 2020
Programming Environment
- Use the Save Panel Image node to save images of your VI panel.
- Use the Save Control Image node to save images of controls on your VI panels.
Desktop UI Controls
- Use the configuration pane to configure high color, low color, marker value, and fit type for intensity graph scales.
- Use the configuration pane to configure step-wise interpolation for graphs and charts.
- Use the configuration pane to configure window position when running a VI.
- Use the configuration pane to configure custom numeric formatting when displaying signed and unsigned integers.
- Programmatically set cursor style, cursor shape, and crosshair style of graphs and charts.
- Programmatically read and write disabled indexes in a Listbox when running a VI.
- Programmatically read and write disabled items in a Tree when running a VI.
- Programmatically read and write graph axis names.
- Programmatically read and write column headers of a data grid.
LabVIEW NXG 5.1 Bug Fixes
The following items are notable issues fixed between the release of LabVIEW NXG 5.0 and LabVIEW NXG 5.1, including additional patches and service packs.
989174 GVI with C Node broken after project reload and force recompile.
Forcing a recompile of a GVI which includes a C Node will appear broken when you open your project again.
Workaround:
Delete LabVIEW NXG's Compiled Code Cache (".cache" folder)

982812 LabVIEW NXG crashes when using any of the Database Connectivity APIs
Crash using the "Database Connectivity" API on some computers. We have mostly noticed customers facing this issue on Lenovo X1 laptops. However, it could happen on other computers too.
Crash log:
ErrorId: 0x6AD7DF6F
Message: Unhandled Task Exception
Error message: attempt to write a readonly database attempt to write a readonly database
Exception: SQLiteException
The issue can also be reproduced by opening any of the Database examples. These examples can be found here in the NXG welcome page: Examples > Programming Basics > Connectivity > Database
Workaround:
Set the 'Default' value to empty for this key in Windows Registry: Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{51C0003F-0741-4D1A-A612-891EB6928B5B}\1.0\0\win64
LabVIEW NXG is the next generation of LabVIEW, assisting engineering workflows with interactively acquiring, analyzing, and visualizing data sets. Combined with built-in, drag-and-drop engineering user interface development and inherent data exploration, LabVIEW NXG is the ideal tool to turn data collection into real insights.
LabVIEW NXG is the next generation of LabVIEW and it will eventually become the standard for LabVIEW once it becomes a superset of LabVIEW features. One of the biggest differences is the improved user experience, especially for new users and new projects. LabVIEW. LabVIEW NXG has the ability to recognize third-party hardware and automatically download скачать and install the necessary drivers. But tools for deploying the software with certain hardware like LabVIEW Real-Time Module, LabVIEW FPGA Module, and CompaqRIO platform are not available in LabVIEW NXG.
LabVIEW NXG has also been streamlined to simplify the customization of test-and-measurement systems. The new drag-and-drop UI creation editor is focused on reducing the development time for common tasks.
LabVIEW NXG also gives users an easier way to publish web VIs or web clients that can be used from standard browsers. This would allow someone to remotely run and validate test from the browser of a different computer. The new compiler is able to turn block diagrams into JAVA scripts rather than just machine code.
