The playing of the steel guitar was introduced into African American Holiness-Pentecostal praise music in the 1930s by Willie Eason, and it remains an essential instrument to this day. Of particular note in this collection is Eason's "rap" "Franklin D. Roosevelt, A Poor Man's Friend."
