Unable to get close enough to slake their desire for one another, he must help her find the Soul Chalice from a distance, all while craving her closeness and figuring out why the Heavens are after him.

Using the Soul Chalice is the only way to get Rile's powers under control so he and Lamia can be together, but at the expense of Hell's success in the war. When the Heavens force their hand, a sacrifice is made-and their worlds are changed forever.
